吳念庭今天擔任西武獅第8棒、游擊手，4局下在1比1平手的情況下，二三壘有人，他一棒敲出中外野安打，送回壘上的兩名跑者，成為這場比賽的勝利打點。
吳念庭日職一軍的第1分打點，就在關鍵時刻建功，他站上一壘後振臂歡呼。
西武獅之後領先到終場，最後5比1贏歐力士。賽後吳念庭與勝利投手高橋光成一起登上「英雄訪問」的舞台，對全場球迷講話。
吳念庭生涯首打點、首次獲選MVP，站上頒獎台情緒激動，眼睛泛著淚光，他拿著麥克風對現場的球迷說話，並向家鄉台灣的球迷打招呼，用中文說出「大家好，我是吳念庭，我會繼續加油的」。
吳念庭是名將之後，父親是現任中信兄弟總教練吳復連，他自高中就赴日留學，去年大學畢業，今年展開職棒生涯的第1個球季。
